Howdy everyone! Happy New Year to you all, hope you had a good Christmas. I know I have been very quiet on the blog front lately – trust me, laziness and a lot of stuff happening at home has meant I’ve been feeling a tad sour about blogging. I am back, as I have some vague ideas on what to write about – not a lot mind you!
To be honest, I was looking back to this time last year and thinking about the goals I set myself, and in the midst of laughing at how tragically I failed to achieve most of them, I thought I would see if I can set some more realistic goals for 2019. And hopefully this year will be less of an Intamin roughness kinda ride and more of a smooth B&M kinda ride. One can only hope!
So, what goals have I set myself for this year…
Vague goal, right? Last year, I put way too much pressure on myself to blog every single week, even if I couldn’t think of what to write about. And a part of me was fretting over the numbers and how I wasn’t getting enough people reading my blog or hitting those high numbers on social media. Life is too short for me to be worrying about that when blogging is a hobby of mine and won’t ever be a full-time job! In all honesty, I want to make sure I still carry on writing for my blog because I enjoy it and I love interacting with those who do follow my blog on social media, you guys are amazing!
Last year, I wanted to go abroad but couldn’t financially achieve it, and to be honest, having spent 2 years staying in the UK, I’ve got cabin fever and want to go abroad again. Having now moved away from a job that made me unhappy and into one that fulfils me and doesn’t feel like a chore, I can start to focus on having that one holiday abroad. And I can actually say, I’M GOING TO GERMANY THIS YEAR. I’m so excited. Got a good trip planned in June and potentially another one on the cards for October. I love trip planning and honestly can’t wait to return to Europa Park, Holiday Park and Tripsdrill – YAY! *Just a little spoiler there!*
Save money – SERIOUSLY!
Okay, this goal seems to reappear every year and sometimes I do achieve and other times I don’t. My previous job wasn’t well paid, at all, but it was a job. This meant that my spending went onto credit cards and so, the money I did save, went on to paying that etc. I have a measly amount of money in my savings account and I would like to have a decent amount in this by the time 2019 is done. 12 months for me to be practical with my money and save as much as I can… WE SHALL SEE.
Memories for 2019
And finally, to continue making memories with the people I love, both friends and family. Who wouldn’t want to ensure they have a happy year ahead of them? I always wish for my friends and family to have a good year and I can only hope that this year will be filled with even more memories. That was incredibly soppy but very true!
I have set myself a challenge – taken inspiration from Charlotte Ruff on Twitter – and boy, this is going to be a tough one for me. I can hear my debit card celebrating.
So… meet the NO BUY CHALLENGE
What do I have to do? I’m not allowed to buy any clothes or make-up for the next 3 months – from today till 31st March 2019. So, I want to see how many outfits I can style up for the next 3 months from the clothes I currently have in my wardrobe. This is a good time for me to do this as I hope it will prove to me that I have plenty of clothes to style up and appreciate what I currently have. The true test will be me having those little urges to buy something new, whether it’s clothes or a new nail polish/lipstick but I’m sure I will have the strength to succeed. Wish me luck, my spend-a-holic devil is going to need it!
*I’ll be keeping a small photo log and will post once the challenge is complete in March so keep an eye out for a photo blog post then! 😉
That’s all for now!
